Traditionally the Agricultural Sector has been excluded from waste management controls that have been applied to other sectors since the 1970’s. It is anticipated that from early 2006 the new regulations will be in place. The compliance monitoring of agricultural waste will be included as part of the integrated Regulation of Agricultural Programme (IRAP).

In summary the uncontrolled burning of waste and burial of waste in farm tips will be prohibited with immediate effect. Duty of Care will take immediate effect. Any waste transported off farm will require a professional waste carrier’s licence.

Our document procedures provide a complete, waste carriers certificate, point of disposal / recovery and duty of care. This signed document is designed in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 Regs. How can we help? What will it Cost?

We can provide a number of different collections methods for a wide range of agricultutal wastes. From small skips through to large 40 yard RORO containers, or direct collections using our tipper – grab service or large bulk loads using 120 cubic yard ejector trailers. Alternatively you can deliver direct to our purpose built 15 acre Materials Recycling Facility. Please note we cannot accept deliveries without a valid waste carriers licence.

To help reduce waste disposal costs we aim to recycle 80% of all wastes delivered to site. We can accept deliveries of packaging, cardboard boxes, plastic containers, fertiliser bags and crop covers. We can also accept wood wastes, construction and demolition wastes and general farm wastes. Please don’t hesitate to contact us about our asbestos and special wastes services.

Please note that we will NOT accept contaminated items at our Materials Recycling Facility therefore plastic containers MUST be triple rinsed, fertiliser bags MUST be free of any debris and the inner lining must be removed as this part can not be recycled. To help keep your costs lower please keep your packaging types separate otherwise you will incur a higher cost as the load will be deemed a mixed load.
